A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...

Okay that was a joke but seriously, here is the background of the RPG.



At some point in the not too distant future things started changing VERY fast. A man whose name has been long forgotten in the mists of time discovered the latent potential of mankind, the ability to defy the impossible and bend the powers of the universe to his will. He spent decades experimenting, discovering new ways of using these powers before finally going public. Abilities like controlling fire or electiricty soon were like a second nature to him, he also found that his body became increasing resilient as his powers grew.

Soon enough he left isolation and showed the world his power, starting off small using his powers to gain funding. After he had his money he went on tours around the world showing millions what humans were truly capable of.

Scientists called him a fraud and Priests called him a heretic but soon the eyewitness accounts began to spread and the undeniable truth began to sink in. The governments of the world quickly put a ban on the learning of these abilities, deeming them far too dangerous to be placed in human hands.

This of course didn't stop those who were desperate to learn and people began to train in secret. Underground training clubs would teach those who they could trust about the secret arts. Eventually after several years the governments of the world realized that there was no way to stop this spreading so they instead decided to legalize it.

There were of course restrictions, people had to register themselves on a global database or be arrested. Those who had a previous history of violent crime were banned from using powers altogether.

After the use of powers became more mainstream and people began to discover their massivley increased resilience fights using these abilites became increasingly popular. Videos of fights soon ended up on the internet and caught the interest of a small company called Lambda Corp who saw massive potential profit in this. They started out by hosting small tournaments here and there but soon started holding massive events that would draw crowds equivilent to a large concert.

Now Void Conflict (or VC) as the sport is now known is one of the largest sports events in the world and Lambda Corp is now in the top 10 richest companies in history. A new generation of fighters is now heading for the big leagues, you will take control of one of these new contestants aiming for wealth, fame and power.
