Joshua had no idea who Lynn was, what he looked like, or even if it was a he.  All the Ryu knew was that he stood on the sandy shores of a beach arena, listening to the peaceful sounds of the crashing waves, which was ironic because he damn well wanted someone to come fight him and ruin the peace...

Lynn walked into the room, just wanting to fight because everyone else was and apparently little plot and conforming with the general society was "hip."

Joshua OOCly promised this could lead to plot, since Lynn knew Rin who knew Unagi, which Joshua had mysterious bonds to.  Joshua saw the person walking in and nodded his head and (supposedly) him.  He then noticed the person's wardrobe.  "What's with the mask?" Joshua asked.

"It protects my identity." Lynn nodded, as she cracked her knuckles. "Sudden Death? It'd be short and sweet. If you care about all that technical stuff, it'd help you become a bit more well known, I guess."

"Sudden death?" Joshua repeated, having heard just recently of the new style of fighting.  "Sure."  The Ryu was about to assume a battle stance, when a question popped in his head. "Hey, what's your name?"

"I go by the alias of eXcape..." Lynn pointed to the Red X's all over her costume. "I know, it's really dumb. So, first one to five wins."

Without warning, Lynn teleported behind Joshua and quickly threw her arm right for the back of his neck, despite being three feet away.

Joshua, being caught off guard by the sudden vanishing, couldn't even think "Where she go?" before being hit in the back of the neck, despite the distance.  Joshua tumbled forward slightly, but nothing too bad.  He turned back to face eXcape, actually smiling a little.  "Well, your either really fucking fast or..." Joshua shrugged, not knowing what else it could be.  "Either way, I'll just stick with my specialty."

Joshua threw his hand forward, releasing a single ball of green energy towards eXcape's legs...!

Lynn was barely able to see the attack, extending her legs in a heart like shape, having the ball wizz right through the hole in her legs.

Sure got lucky, with that one.

"1-0, me!" She yelled as she leaped into the air, throwing one fist for his stomach, and the other for his jaw in a hook.

Joshua managed to catch the fist aiming for his stomach, but physical combat got the better of him once again, and he was smashed in the jaw, his head now facing the right, but he maintained his grip of eXcape's fist.  Without looking back a his foe, Joshua opened the hand holding his opponent's fist so that the palm was flat, and fired another burst of green energy...!

To be extremely blunt, Lynn went flying across the field, landing right on her back as smoke rose high into the sky from her scorched body.

Struggling to her feet, eXcape looked at Joshua, smirking, although the effect was lost with the mask. "Do you wanna call my move a critical or what? It was pretty clever, if I don't mind saying so myself."

Regardless of Joshua's answer, she teleported to the side of the Poo of Joshie, sending a large sweep kick with an extremely long elastic kick.

Joshua was about to answer before the masked foe teleported to Joshua' side.  The Ryu was a little more prepared this time, using his footwork to leap away from eXcape, avoiding the attack.  He looked at the fighter, smiling again.  "Sure, that attack hurt like a bitch." Most would think you'd resumed fighting, but Joshua did not.  "Tell me," Joshua said, pointing to his own face that was concealed mostly by his Ryu hat. "why the mask?"

"Tell me...why the hat?" Lynn said in a Smart-Alecky tone. "So, 3-2, me. I'm counting your attack thing as a Critical, just for benefit of the doubt. Whadda call that stuff? Never seen it before..."

She was of course referring to his Chi attack.

Joshua stiffened up at the first question.  He knew the answer damn well.  It wasn't for Ryu pride or anything.  No, it was for a much more personal reason.  "It's called Ki, a concentrated form of energy in the body," was the best descrïption Joshua could give, not knowing much about it himself.  "What's with your... stretchy... thing?"

"You can't do it? Huh, you're the second person that's surprised by that..." eXcape didn't realize that everyone wasn't a Gomumi, primarily because she didn't know that Gomumi powers were only available to the Genus.

"It's as easy as moving my leg up. I grew up with people who could do it, so I guess you're just weird!" Joshua probably wasn't paying attention to what she was saying, as he was about to be hit in the back of the head with two feet, after Lynn teleported above the man who has a fetish with dragons.

Joshua opened his mouth to talk, but it ended up a kick to the back of his head.  Joshua did a front flip, but managed to land on his feet, whipping around right away to face eXcape in a small rage.

"Will you stop that!?" Joshua yelled the demand that would of course not be followed.

The Ryu cocked his arm back, which was once again engulfed in a green aura.  He flung his hand outward, sending a scatter fire of tiny energy blasts...!

Joshua bumped his topic for his foe.

Lynn tried to jump out of the way, but was sent rolling across the ground, once again covered in smoke. She threw her leg high in the air, trying to slam down on Joshua's head like an axe-kick, while throwing a jab towards the jaw with her other, in case he dodged the first attack.

Joshua brought his arms up in an X to defend against the ax kick, but was slammed across the jaw with the second attack.  The Ryu stumbled back a little, and said something that could not be made out.  He spat out a glob of blood from his mouth and repeated it, "Fuck."  eXcape had won the battle.

"Good match." eXcape said as she walked over to the Ryu, holding out her hand to shake. "Mind teaching me that Ki stuff? Just a super basic lesson?"

Joshua shook her hand, not very tired from the short match.  He shifted his hat, saying, "Sure, but I don't think I'll be much of a good tutor.  I quick spar to teach you?"
