This is how to make glowing ki auras in Flash 8. You can use this technique for your other GFX, too.

First, import your BG (Ctrl+R):


Afterwards, press F8 and name it and click Graphic, then OK

Once you have your BG as a graphic symbol, insert a new layer:


This makes things so that it doesn't mess up your BG. From here on, do everything on your second layer.

Next, import your sprite (Ctrl+R):


Once you're done with that, trace the bitmap with these options (circled in red) for the best quality:


After tracing click the background color of your sprite sheet, delete it and remove unnecessary sprites/poses.

After that, import the GFX you want to use with your sprite (Ctrl+R):


Be sure to get its bitmap traced with the settings above. Also remove its background and take 3  auras, turning them into a Movie Clip (F8). Edit the Movie Clip and put one aura anim per keyframe. At the last aura keyframe, add a keyframe after it, press F9 and paste this Actionscrïpt in
the box:

gotoAndPlay(1);

Once animated, drag your aura out from your library.

Add tint to your aura and blend it with the background using the following settings: Use any color desired.


Next, select "filters", click "+", click "Glow" and use these settings: Make it the same color as your tint


Resize your finished aura, place it in front of your sprite, right-click it, click arrange and click "send to back".

Save it, configure settings, publish it and upload. You're done!!!

For and extra touch, make a ground wind Movie Clip, animate it like so and also send it to the back. This step is somewhat shown here:


Your end result should look like this:


Finally, after you publish, it should look something like this:

They're not mine, I got them from this topic. I just put them on  transparent background but you can credit me if you want ^_^
