Jessica was relieved that the two were leaving.  Being so doused up on rugs, she didn't exactly what all was being said on the news.  Before they left, she said: "I don't know a Joe."

Nail was unsure how to approach the subject but he plucked up the courage and looked Lyra straight in the eye. "Lyra... have you ever heard the expression: For a life to be given, one must be taken?

Lyra thought for a moment, before realizing that she had never heard of that expression before, nor did she understand what it meant. "Um...no...? What does that mean?"

Nail carried on "Well in this world it is believed that when one person is born, someone has to be taken away to balance the equation, only in this case, Joshua was taken." Nail then put his hand on lyras shoulder "I'm sorry, Joshua is gone"

Lyra's eyes widened for a moment, not expecting Joshua to have been killed in the battle with Unagi. Suddenly, Daitonius dropped from Lyra's hand to the ground, her accidently dropping him from shock.

"No..." She whispered, picking up Daitonius. "I thought...I thought Unagi was good again..!"

Nail looked down at the ground and then looked into Lyras eyes again "Joshua took his own life for him, he died so Unagi would live"

Lyra ran back into Jessica's room, and looked at her with tears in her eyes. "Joshua is...well...gone..."

Lyra walked over next to Jessica, and stepped forward to give her a hug of sympathy.

Nail watched as Lyra hugged Jessica, "So much emotion... first Ant and now Ryu"

Nail then looked up at the ceiling and then looked at Lyra "I must leave now, goodbye" Nail then flapped his cape and he was gone.

"I'm really sorry...but I have to go...feel better..." Lyra whispered to Jessica, before walking out of the hospital, and blasting off to the Lookout.

Jessica had the same reaction as Lyra.  Her eyes wen wide, and tears dripped down her now pale cheeks.  Some where in another room, a baby could be heard crying very loudly...
