Joshau was leaning over the Guardian Lookout at the sunset.  He and Lyra had been teleported here by Ritsuke after... 'events' took place in West City.

"I'm so sorry that this happened to you..." Lyra choked out through her tears. "I didn't want to hurt you...at all..."

"That this happened to ME?" He turned to Lyra. "I could have killed you back there."

Lyra looked back at Joshua, staring him in the eyes. "I didn't protect you..." She muttered.

"Lyra, it is you who clearly knows more than I do.  You DID protect me."

"But..." She said, spitting out words as they came to her head. "I...lost control. And I attacked you..."

"And saved me by doing so, I must admit." Joshua recalled in his mind what he could remeber from before the incident. "I don't know what came over me.  I was dobuting my own power after my fight with Ristuke.  I didn't believe in myself.  And because of that, Alter Ego found a weak spot and took over.  Somehow, your Soulstone spirit repels the power of Alter Ego..."

"Why could I stop Alter Ego? He's able to take over you. Why would I be able to make him weaker?" She took a deep breath.

"You are more emotionally strong than me.  Your Light.  Your joy, happiness, and friendlyness.  It can all cu through even the thickest shadow of Dark." He paused. "Do you remember the promise you said?"

"'I promise I'll stay safe...to save your heart...'" Lyra recited. She suddenly felt a spark of happiness, as if she had not failed. "So...I didn't break the promise...?"

"Bingo, we have a winner.  Little do you realize, you saved my life back there."

"I did?" Lyra asked in surprise. "I really did?"

Her brain could not understand the idea of Lyra saving Joshua, instead of vise versa.

"Alter Ego could have tooken me over that night.  Completely control my very body." He set his hand on Lyra's shoulders. "But you, of all people, stopped him!"

Ritsuke was stood behind the two, "Dont I get any credit, I mean I did help you know.!

"Yeah, but when you beat someone it isn't that rare."

"True dat... ah nevermind..." Ritsuke turned around and walked off.

Lyra watched Ritsuke walk away, and turned back to Joshua.

"I'm really happy you're safe..." She told Joshua, with great happiness.

Joshua turned away from Lyra, smiling to himself.  Joshau neevr knew anyone could have this kind of feelings toward him.  The feelings of caring and concern.  

"Yeah.... well.... see ya later." Joshua said with a wave.

And then he balsted off...
